• Ebm-papst, Inc. will invest $37 million in new location
  • Project will create 200 new jobs over the next five years
  • Washington County plant will be the company’s second U.S. location

TELFORD, Tenn. – Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee, Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bob Rolfe and ebm-papst, Inc. officials announced today that the company will locate new operations in Washington County.

The electric motor and fan manufacturer will invest approximately $37 million and create 200 new jobs in the Northeast Tennessee region. This represents the largest capital investment in Washington County since 2011.

The company will locate the new facility in the Washington County Industrial Park, a Select Tennessee Certified Site.

Ebm-papst is the world market leader in fan and motor manufacturing. The company produces motors and fans for many industries including agriculture, air-conditioning and ventilation, appliance, commercial refrigeration and others. Ebm-papst has an international reach with its global headquarters in Germany and employs more than 15,000 employees worldwide. The company’s U.S. headquarters is located in Connecticut, where it employs approximately 300 people.

Ebm-papst will manufacture fans for refrigeration, air conditioning and ventilation applications in Washington County. The facility is set to be operational beginning in September 2019.
